Ilona Kocsis

Ilona Kocsis is a Western Australian writer of Hungarian heritage, living in Perth/Boorloo on the lands of the Whadjuk Nyoongar people. Ilona is the author of ‘Ilka’s Kitchen. Stories and Recipes from my Hungarian Heritage.’ She has a deep connection to the food, culture and history of her Hungarian roots, with a particular interest in migrant stories and intergenerational trauma. Ilona holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education, majoring in Library Studies and minoring in English. She is currently enrolled in a Master of Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University. Ilona has appeared on episodes of Our State On a Plate and co-hosts The Hungarian Heritage Podcast.
