Michael Aiken is a parent of four, living and working in Sydney. His first book, A Vicious Example, was shortlisted for the Kenneth Slessor Prize, the Dame Mary Gilmore Award and an Australian Book Design award. His most recent book, the verse novel Satan Repentant, was written as part of an Australian Book Review Laureate’s fellowship, under the mentorship of David Malouf. It explores notions of individual identity, absolutes in politics, religion and morality, and the possibility for individual self-determination.
