We pay homage to Australia’s original storytellers who remind us that storytelling is about deep listening. We recognise Australia’s First Nations Peoples for their ongoing connection to storytelling, country, culture, and community. We also respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we’re all situated and recognise that it was never ceded.

Ellen Irwin

Ellen Irwin is an aspiring author of historical sagas set in the Western Isles of Scotland and the Irish Sea region. She has been writing and storytelling since she first learned to wield a pencil. A member of ACFW and Historical Novel Society’s Interview Team, she is passionate both about writing character-driven tales of redemption and supporting other writers.

When not writing, Ellen practices as a clinical psychologist under a professional moniker, and enjoys reading and researching, running, hiking, horseback riding, cooking clean, nutrient-dense food, and mothering two wild wee lads alongside her husband. When not living in the past, she identifies the horse farm haven of Simpsonville, Kentucky as home, as well as any library, bookstore, castle, cozy cabin, coffee shop, back road, or bit of nature that allows her to escape from reality and into story-crafting.
