We pay homage to Australia’s original storytellers who remind us that storytelling is about deep listening. We recognise Australia’s First Nations Peoples for their ongoing connection to storytelling, country, culture, and community. We also respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners of the land on which we’re all situated and recognise that it was never ceded.

Matthew Rush

Matthew Rush is a Swinburne University student studying Creative Writing and Literature, and Cinema and Screen Studies for his Bachelor of Arts degree. They’ve also completed a Diploma of Arts and Communication, created a curation of films titled ‘Bare Impressions of Film’ with his fellow students, which was available for rent online on Cinema 3 at ACMI in 2023, and interned at The Burne, another Swinburne publication. During his internship, he worked as an editorial assistant and decided to continue his editing career by joining our journal.

They are very passionate about the stories portrayed through many types of media such as video games, books, films, and tabletop roleplaying games. They hope to pursue a career writing and editing for media, whether for articles or films, and to one day publish their own collection of stories.
